# Handoff on DD-0021 Shorter tender window for API carriers

Fictional example from Lanefold, a made-up freight company. This is entry 4 on the DD-0021 work log, the handoff the coding agent use case shows: left by Claude Code, run by Priya Raman, labeled Agent-reported. It refers to the tasks and the open question in the DD-0021 plan example. In the app, select Leave a handoff on the design doc's Work Log tab and paste each field. Over MCP, call add_journal_entry with variation "work-log", kind "handoff" and the three fields below.

## Done

- Per-channel tender window in Dispatch Service: pull request #482 merged, CI passed. Recorded as a change on this doc by Priya Raman.
- Channel tag in Carrier Gateway: implemented and marked done by the agent. No change has been recorded on this doc for it yet.
- Tender expiry tests cover both channels and the missing-tag fallback.

## Blocked on

- Late acceptance handling waits on Q1, What happens when a carrier accepts after the window closes? Owner: Maya Chen. The timer currently rejects late acceptances, which is the conservative reading until Q1 is answered.

## Next

- Confirm the Carrier Gateway change and record it on this doc, then get Q1 answered by Maya Chen.
- Once Q1 is answered, take the late acceptance handling task and plan it against Dispatch Service.
- Start the re-tender count metric per channel before the pilot so the two-week comparison has a baseline.

Entries in a work log are reports. A test the handoff says passed is still something the next person checks.

This example is fictional. Lanefold is a made-up freight company, and the pull request and people in it don't exist. Use the shape, not the content.

Put it in ArchDocs

  1. Open the design doc's Work Log tab and select Leave a handoff. The tab is in early access; email hello@archdocs.io to turn it on for your organization.
  2. Paste each section into Done, Blocked on and Next. At least one field must have text.
  3. The entry becomes the current handoff. Copy resume prompt gives the next agent session a prompt that reads it first.

Over MCP, which works for every organization with a design doc today, an agent calls add_journal_entry with variation: "work-log", kind: "handoff" and the three fields, and the next session reads it back with get_journal_handoff. Entries are reports, marked Person-reported or Agent-reported; they are never verification evidence. The work logs guide covers corrections, commit references and redaction.
