Sequence diagram online
The editor below opens with a booking flow already drawn. Rename the participants, add steps and change sync calls to async ones. Your work is saved in this browser.
Edit the flow
Each participant is a lifeline. Each step is one message from one participant to another, drawn in the order you list them.
steps:
- message: POST /v2/quotes
from: tms
to: api
msgType: sync
msgType sets the kind of message, such as sync, return or async. Async messages are drawn with an open arrowhead, so a reader can tell a queue publish from a blocking call.
Keep it next to the rest of your docs
In a free ArchDocs account, a participant can be a reference to a service your team already documents. Rename the service once and every sequence diagram that uses it shows the new name.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. The editor runs in your browser and keeps your drawings there. A free account lets you open them from another computer and share them with your team.
Can I write the diagram as text instead of dragging boxes?
Yes. Open the YAML panel and edit participants and steps directly. The canvas redraws as you type.
I already have a Mermaid sequence diagram. Can I bring it in?
Paste it into the Mermaid converter and it becomes a sequence diagram you can edit here.
