Sample workspace and guided tour

Load the sample workspace when you want to see how diagrams share objects before drawing your own architecture. Cadence is a fictional B2B engagement platform with documents that reference the same services.

Loading or removing the sample requires spaces:manage.

Load the sample

1. Open Home.
2. In Explore a sample architecture, select Start the tour to load Cadence and begin the tour. Choose Just load the sample if you want to browse without the tour.

Home shows this card when its document overview is empty and no sample has been loaded. Choosing Just load the sample opens the Cadence (Sample) space.

The SAMPLE badge marks sample spaces, documents and objects in lists. Sample documents and the sample space don't count toward your plan's document and space limits.

Follow the tour

The tour shows a reference in a diagram, opens its object page, then highlights the Used in docs and Dependencies tabs. It also visits the graph and the document's YAML.

1. If you loaded Cadence without starting the tour, select Take the tour under Tools in the sidebar.
2. Select Next or Back to move between steps. Right Arrow and Left Arrow do the same when you aren't typing in a text field.
3. Select Done on the last step, or leave early with Skip tour or Esc.

Take the tour restarts at the beginning. It doesn't load sample data, so load Cadence first.

If you reload or change pages during the tour, select Resume to continue. Progress is saved in this browser for your account and organization when browser storage is available; it doesn't follow you to another device.

Remove the sample

Removal deletes the sample space, sample documents and sample objects. References to sample objects in your own documents will break. The confirmation dialog warns you if any exist.

1. Open Cadence (Sample) in the sidebar.
2. In the sample banner, select Remove sample workspace.
3. In Remove the sample workspace?, select Remove sample workspace to confirm.

To draw your own architecture, create a document.
