Claude Code setup

Add ArchDocs from the project where you use Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http archdocs https://api.archdocs.io/mcp

This saves a server entry for that project in your local Claude Code configuration. To use it across projects, add --scope user before archdocs.

Sign in

Start an interactive Claude Code session and run:

/mcp

Select archdocs and follow its authentication prompt. Complete the ArchDocs sign-in in your browser, then return to Claude Code. Open /mcp again to check the connection.

Check a read

Ask Claude:

Use the ArchDocs MCP server to list my documents. Show their names and IDs without changing anything.

Inspect the list_docs result before asking for a change. The tool reference explains the write calls and their effects.

If authentication has expired, open /mcp and select Re-authenticate for archdocs.
